Sustainable fabrics
1
Sustainability in the textile industry is achieved with materials and processes that minimize environmental impact without compromising quality or performance. A sustainable fabric involves products that meet responsible standards and practices; base fabrics made from recycled yarn derived from POY (Partially Oriented Yarn, the first yarn produced from pellets); raw materials free of contaminants and harmful chemicals; biodegradable textiles; biobased products; and production processes with low environmental impact.

Starting with the design phase of our products, we evaluate raw materials, manufacturing processes, and environmental impacts, as well as durability, maintenance, use, and end-of-life disposal. This approach enables us to select and adapt technologies, inputs, and processes that minimize environmental impact in accordance with “cradle-to-cradle” models and sustainable design principles.
Lafayette fabrics are made of polyester fibers and polyester blends with spandex, cotton, viscose, nylon, and other fibers.
Our approach involves certifying finished fabrics by assessing the composition of the fibers and the manufacturing processes and chemicals used. This ensures that our products meet international sustainability and textile safety standards.
