To celebrate 80 years of innovation, our gift to the planet was 8,000 trees during the ‘Lafayette Siembra’ environmental week, beginning on April 22, Earth Day, and concluding on April 29, Arbor Day.
We joined efforts with customers and other partners to plant trees in the cities of Bello, Cali, Bucaramanga, and Madrid in Colombia, and in countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.
Everything we do is born from inspiration and from doing what we are passionate about! One of our main goals is to take care of the environment, protecting our surroundings as part of a culture of care, and not putting in jeopardy the resources of future generations.
We are generating life when we plant trees with ‘Lafayette Siembra.’ A mature tree produces 2,721 kg of oxygen, enough for two people to breathe for an entire year. That means the 8,000 trees we planted during this campaign will produce enough oxygen for around 16,000 people to breathe for a year.
And that’s in addition to other benefits of trees, such as habitat for many species of animals, birds, and insects, and the fact that trees provide shade. They help prevent climate change and balance the ecosystem, regulating temperatures and creating a windbreak.
